The inspiration for The Big Red Truck stories comes from a hybrid of Emma’s adventures working on an overland truck that travelled through Africa in the early 1990s, coupled with her experiences of working in international development. She has written, edited and compiled a number of books for the international development sector, including ‘To Whom It May Concern’ –with the foreword by Archbishop Desmond Tutu – and two books in the ‘Hands On’ series published with funding by DFID..
