Emma Judge has been a passionate advocate for Africa's development since first stepping foot on the continent 25 years ago. The Big Red Truck stories are an innovative and unique educational tool for raising awareness of some of Africa’s challenges and promoting the ''raison d’etre'' of the Sustainable Development Goals. Using creative rhyme to explore the trials and tribulations of rural Africa, it is intended for children aged between three and seven years old. However, in readings, it has captivated a wide-ranging audience and captured the imaginations of children, parents and teachers alike whilst sharing the enchantment and challenges of an extraordinary continent. The inspiration for The Big Red Truck stories comes from a hybrid of Emma’s adventures working on an overland truck that travelled through Africa in the early 1990s, coupled with her experiences of working in international development. She has written, edited and compiled a number of books for the international development sector, including:

'To Whom It May Concern' – with the foreword by Archbishop Desmond Tutu – and two books in the 'Hands On' series published with funding by DFID.
